The Dual Degree Program is offered in
collaboration with a sponsor, which is
a reputed, accredited university in a foreign
country. The program focuses on the demonstrated
education and training needs of selected
students from different countries, and
is designed in consultation with our partner
universities. The goal of the Dual Degree
Program is to complement the existing
academic programs offered by the sponsoring
institution. The student receives two
related undergraduate degrees in Engineering;
a Bachelor's degree from the home institution
and another from the College of Engineering
and Computing at Florida International
University.
How
it works?
The
duration of an equivalent Bachelors degree
in Latin America and some other parts
of the world is five years. The Dual Degree
Program allows the students to study for
three to four years in their countries
and then transfer to FIU. Once admitted,
the student will have to take between
42 to 54 (exceptions may apply) credits
in order to graduate and receive a degree
from FIU. After graduation the student
will transfer his/her FIU credits back
to the home institution and receive an
equivalent degree from the home institution.
